Obituary for Edward Jackson

Edward Jackson was Born November 20, 1936, to Moses and Martha Jackson, in Newark, New Jersey

Edward departed this life on Saturday January 4th, 2020 in University Hospital, Newark New Jersey.

He attended the Newark Public School System as he grew up with his siblings, five sisters and two brothers.

During the 60's, Edward spent time in two branches of the military. The Air Force and Army. After serving in Vietnam he received an Honorable Discharge and returned home to Newark.

He was united in marriage to Betty Archer. Born to that union were two children, son James (deceased) and daughter Sonya.

As his family was growing and became established, Edward worked at several locations in Newark. The M&M's Candy factory, located at 285 Badger Ave. and Mattel Toy Factory, where many toys were made as well as the Betsy Wetsy and Patti Play-pal dolls.

He was a resident of 400 Oakwood Towers for the last 3yrs.

He leaves to mourn, cherish and reflect on his memory, his daughter Sonya Pough (Newark, N.J,) his grandchildren:Tyree,Tatiana and Xavier.
His sisters:Vivian Ligon (Hillside, N.J.), Harriet Ayers (Hampton,Va.), Rosalind Benyard (Philadelphia, Pa), brother-in-law: James Ligon (Hillside, N.J.). and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by two sisters: Mary Benjamin and Evelyn Harris, and two brothers: Moses and Patrick Jackson.
