Irving Bradley Sr. was called to heavenly rest on July 29,
2019. He was the 4th of five sons (Percy “Turk” Bradley,
Raymond “Hook” Bradley, Donald “Don Q” Bradley and
Bruce Bradley) born to the late Percy Sr. and Charlotte Bradley
of Newark, NJ.
Irving attended Westside High School and served in the
United States Army from 1954-1957 as a Tank Commander for
the 894 Battalion, Fort Knox, KY. He also served in the United
States Army Reserves from 1957-1962 and was a member of
VFW Post # 9015.
Irving cherished his family and worked hard at providing and
instilling a strong work ethic in each of his children. He always
went out of his way to serve and entertain family and friends.
Irving was skillfully employed as a Laborer for both Acme
Shellac, Inc. and Jayne Motor Freight, Inc. After retirement he
went to work as a custodian for the Newark Public School,
Newark, NJ where he again retired in 2013.
Irving is preceded in death by his parent’s, Percy Sr. and
Charlotte Bradley; his wife, Naomi Bradley; former wife,
Jacqueline Morrison, daughter, Michelle Bradley; his
grandsons, Hashim Bradley, Darryl Bradley; and great-grand
daughter, Brittany Bradley.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his brothers, Donald Bradley
(Janet), and Bruce Bradley; his children, Irving (Blinda)
Bradley, Jr., Diane (Charles) McClure, Yvette Bradley, Keith
(Melanie) Bradley, Cassandra Bradley, Angela (Darryl)
Sherard; along with 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren,
and a host of family and friends.
